[REVIEWS] Stuft Pizza and Blondie's

Hurrah!

After sitting through a long lecture on projectile motion, I finished my first week of classes today. Of course, while I was in class, I was diligently thinking - not about angles or vectors - but about how to celebrate the completion of my first week of classes!

My weeklong research on Yelp had whittled down a few targets for my food adventures, and among them were Stuft Pizza and Blondie's froyo and ice cream.

They were both in walking distance, and I had developed an especially strong craving for Blondie's, after reading the reviews on Yelp.

And what better way to celebrate college classes than with pizza and ice cream?

Walked to Stuft Pizza and ordered a slice of combo pizza -

It was the first time that I'd had pizza in a while... At least, that's how I explain inhaling the slice in ten minutes. So much for savoring each bite!

But how could I not? Thick, chewy crust with a thick, savory layer of toppings. Perfection.

After paying my dues to the Italian (but really, American) college classic, I headed over to Blondie's, just down the street.

And who was there but Blondie herself!

How did I know it was Blondie? Well, the woman behind the counter was pretty, young, and blonde. And yes, it helped that the painting on the wall featured a woman who was pretty, young, and blonde... and looked exactly like her.

Since it was my celebratory pizza and ice cream day, I decided to forgo the much-lauded Wow Cow low-calorie froyo and dive into the ice cream instead.

I ordered a child's size of Peach Cobbler and Tin Roof Sundae (vanilla swirled with chocolate fudge and crushed almonds).

Heavenly! Unlike heavy products from the big ice cream brands, this ice cream was light and fluffy. I could also taste the actual flavors, too, as opposed to just sweetened milk and cream with a smidgen of artificial flavor.

The peach cobbler had actual cobbler in it! Not just peaches, but the doughy, cinnamony crust.

I also got a mini cookie, in a jar labeled, "Baked locally," for 75 cents. I mainly bought it because of the price... How could I resist a 75 cent mini-cookie brushed with powdered sugar?

It was a scrumptious little snack. Simultaneously crunchy, chewy, and crumbly. A bit dry, but it was like a biscotti-scone hybrid. The sugar added the right amount of sweetness.

I had been having some trouble managing my sweet tooth recently, eating sweets after sweets in one sitting. But after my time at Blondie's... Mmmmmm!

That ice cream (and mini-cookie) was so satisfying.

Great celebration for a great week.
